(Representatives of VCCI and Headway at the working session on the project to protect endangered wildlife)
Recently, Headway JSC had a discussion on the project of Protecting Endangered Wildlife with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI-HCM). We are strongly committed to supporting activities to prevent illegal wildlife trade in Vietnam.
In 2023, the Education for Nature (ENV) database recorded 8,358 cases of advertising, small-scale trading and 118 cases of professional illegal wildlife trafficking.
Currently, the illegal trade and consumption of wildlife products is increasing and becoming more complicated, appearing on all three types of trade route: road, sea and air.
The criminals often take advantage of transportation vehicles to hide illegal wildlife, falsely declare shipment information, hide illegal goods in carry-on or checked baggage, and use a third country to conceal the origin of goods. These acts are done with the intention to evade customs inspection, transport goods across borders and exporting them to other countries.
(Headway pledged support to prevent illegal wildlife trade)
As a transport company, Headway understands its role and social responsibility in protecting the natural environment. We are firmly against illegal wildlife trade and consumption, and thoroughly review every stage of the transport supply chain.
Headway has established strict internal policies and regulations, cooperated closely with authorities, and conveyed a message of zero tolerance towards the consumption and trade of products derived from wildlife.
